In response to L. Geillinger’s letter on students of Parkland school in Florida and gun control, I believe he has it all wrong.
David Hogg and his student friends who were at the school are all smart high school students and don’t need to read written facts when they speak. When David speaks about gun control and protest, he does a great job. After all he does have a great G.P.A. If he could run for president at his young age he would have my vote.
You are right about one thing – it wasn’t the gun’s fault, it was the maker’s and the seller’s fault. Assault weapons shouldn’t be manufactured for private use. If the NRA doesn’t believe this, then there is something wrong with their organization.
If we have to have guns in our schools for protection then we should have them in churches, movie theaters, ball parks, and everywhere that a lot of kids and adults hang out.
I am proud of what these kids are doing and hope they achieve what they “all” want.
Last of all things you wrote about, if you have some swamp land, you could build a large floating raft with all kinds of targets on it so gun owners could practice. Don’t ride on it because you could get shot.
