An invitation from my wonderful son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren to spend the summer in Grand Marais was a welcome idea.
Arriving there in early May was an easy transition because they had a nice living arrangement for me. Spring was starting to appear with leaves coming out and flowers waking up to replace the cold winter. Warmer weather with a breeze from Lake Superior, a pretty view of the area—it was a lovely way to spend my summer.
The kind and caring ways from folks such as Walt M., Lois J., the competent staff of the North Shore Hospital and Clinic, and others helped me feel welcome. Now I know why my family is happy to call Grand Marais their hometown. Thank you to everyone.
Another change in the weather with leaves turning colors, birds moving south and shorter daylight hours means it is time for me to return to a warmer climate.
My prayers and good wishes for everyone in your fine city.
