Times are tough for some families. Inflation is digging hard into families’ pocketbooks. So, with Christmas coming, and money is tight, how do you tell your kids there won’t be any presents under the Christmas tree?
Jes Rodne said that doesn’t need to be the case. In her eighth year as the volunteer director of Operation Family Christmas, Rodne noted, based on the past years, “We have a community that is ready to rally around you and help.”
If you need help purchasing Christmas presents for your children, Operation Family Christmas is set up to make sure your kids will get gifts.
Who can participate? Cook County parents or legal guardians with children zero months to 18 years of age that need a little help during the Holiday season.
Where do I sign up? Applications will be sent home with your children from their place of education. If this does not work, you can contact Jes.
All applications need to be turned in by November 18th at 4 p.m. Applications can be turned in at school or dropped off at Cook County Home Center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you have any questions, you can contact Jes at 218-370-2019 or jmrodne@gmail.com.
