Apology offered for Winter Solstice Pageant

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The Good Harbor Hill Players would like to extend a heart-felt apology to our community. We are sincerely sorry that so much of the content and tenor of this year’s Winter Solstice Pageant was both harsh and negative, especially towards women and loggers. This was not our intention when the show was first conceived, but somehow devolved in that direction by the time of the show. This is highly unfortunate. These are not the values we want to promote for our community or its visitors.

The cast, crew, musicians, and members of our board sat down together the day after the show to address these issues. We agreed this episode was avoidable, and we know we can and will do better in the future. As always, our Solstice productions remain open to the community, and we welcome your input.

We appreciate your forgiveness. We hope that you will continue to come out to share both Summer and Winter Solstice with us, as you have for over 20 years.

With Deepest Apologies,
Good Harbor Hill Players
Grand Marais
