Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department Fire Hall No. 1 was crowded with folks from the Mid-Gunflint Trail and beyond on Saturday, August 14, to enjoy the midsummer activities hosted by the Mid-Trail Homeowners Association, including the Live Auction with Phil Serrin.

In addition to the lively auction, there were refreshments and a flea market, a boutique, and the drawing for an amazing handcrafted quilt. The lucky winner of the quilt was Ray Ahrens, a Hungry Jack Lake cabin owner.

One of the event organizers, Lee Zopff, said, “We want to thank all who came. We all raised $5500 for our volunteer fire department and had a good time. Be sure to join us next summer!”

Witty Phil Serrin of Bearskin Lake once again served as the auctioneer.
