Grass root democracy will be on display on March 8 when residents of Lutsen, Tofte and Schroeder attend their annual township meetings.
Residents will have a chance to voice their opinions about upcoming budgets, town parks, roads, local cemeteries, tax levies and local elections. Votes will be cast for supervisors, clerks and treasurers.
The election polls open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in each of the township townhalls. Annual meetings start at 8:01 p.m.
The Minnesota Association of Townships touts March 8 as Township Day, and calls this day, “democracy on display in townships.”
