The annual fall fly-in hosted by the Arrowhead Eagles will not be held this year due to concern for visitors gathering at the airport and the possible contraction of the coronavirus. Instead, the Eagles will concentrate on reviewing and then announcing their selection of a winner for the aviation training scholarship previously announced.
“While we’re disappointed to cancel the event this year, we’re excited to proceed and announce our new scholarship recipient on Saturday, September 19. We have good interest in the scholarship so far and we encourage anyone interested in flight training or other areas of aviation training to apply now to meet the deadline on September 1,” said Mike Raymond, President of Arrowhead Eagles.
Scholarship applications can be picked up at the airport. Applicants must be enrolled within a year of acceptance of the scholarship into an aviation training program with a Certified Flight Instructor or with an accredited aviation curriculum. The scholarship is limited to Cook or Lake County residents who are at least 15 years or older.
Interested individuals wishing more information should contact Mike Raymond, Sawtooth Aviation, 218-370-0373 or Airport Manager Rodney Roy, 218-387-3024.
