Ann Cartmell Hussey


 

 

Ann Cartmell Hussey, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 17 at Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio. Ann was born November 9, 1939, in Carrollton, Kentucky to the late Richard Bacon and Gladys Graham Cartmell. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, John Castle “Jack” Hussey, sons, John Patrick (Marsha) Hussey of Pittsburgh, Michael Hussey of Maysville and Richard Graham (Christina) Hussey of Saint Charles, Illinois. Ann is also survived by grandchildren Christopher Hussey, Alexandra Hussey, John Hussey, Olivia Hussey, Aidan Hussey and Genevieve Hussey. In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her sister, Jean Vinson Cartmell Lemme Masten and her brother, James Holton Cartmell. Ann graduated from Carrollton High School and attended Transylvania College. After wedding in 1958, Ann and Jack made their home in many places, including West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Mississippi and Pennsylvania, before moving to Maysville in 1978. Ann retired from St. Patrick Church, where she served as secretary for 20 years. Ann was active in the St. Patrick School PTA and the St. Patrick Altar Society. She also enjoyed her weekly canasta games with friends and trips to Ireland and England with her husband. Private services will be held in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will not be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Patrick Church, Community Care of Mason County (“Food Bank”) or the charity of one’s choice.
