CCHS senior pitcher Andrew Miller was one of a dozen baseball players from the region selected by coaches to the all-area team.
The Vikings left-handed pitcher racked up 100 strikeouts while giving up 15 walks, helping lead his team to a 17-5 record. Andrew had six wins and two losses this season.
Much more than a pitcher, Andrew finished with a .508 batting average and had a .640 on-base percentage with 26 steals. When he wasn’t pitching he was a nifty left-handed shortstop and played catcher.
Although he was recruited by UMD and St. Scholastica, Andrew decided to take his pitching talents to Iowa Western, a junior college that participated in the 2019 junior college World Series.
