There will be an abundance of activities for residents at North Shore Living during November. Even though there still may be some sunny days for a stroll on the patio, the colder weather means more time indoors to work on craft projects and baking for our upcoming Resident Council Holiday Sale to be held on December 6th.
The Minnesota deer opener is November 9th, and the residents will spend the afternoon reminiscing and telling stories of past deer seasons, and sharing favorite venison recipes. There will be a hunting word game, and plenty of snacks too.
On November 11th at 1:15 p.m., the American Legion Post 413 Honor Guard will come to North Shore Living for a Veterans Honor Ceremony to recognize our resident Veterans. We will honor Harold Husby, Edward Olson, William Lyght, Robert Haring, Robert Sherman, and Buren Dale Hooper. We are forever indebted to you for the sacrifices you made for all of us.
The monthly birthday party will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13 for Joyce Hagen and Mary Liebsch. Cake and ice cream will be served at 3:00 p.m. Doug Sanders will be here to entertain us with our favorite tunes on the piano. Family and friends are most welcome to attend this event.
On November 14th, the residents will have an outing to the “Empty Bowls” benefit lunch to show their support for this worthy cause. They will also travel to The Hub on November 21 for lunch with their friends there.
There will be a special music event on November 19 at 2:00 p.m. featuring the music of Briand Morrison and Roxann Berglund, followed by Happy Hour.
Other music events this month include a sing-along with Pastor Daren and friends on November 18 at 1:00 p.m., Myron Bursheim on Sunday November 17 and 24 at 2:30 p.m., and Susan Scherer on piano November 6, 13, and 20 at 4:30 p.m.
The annual “Turkey Bingo” will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 2:30 p.m. The residents will have an opportunity to win a turkey to share with their family or friends.
Thanksgiving brings families and friends to North Shore Living for the traditional turkey dinner served on Thanksgiving Day at 11:30 a.m. It’s always fun to see everyone gathered together for the big meal. In the afternoon, we will have a fun card game, and there will be plenty of football on TV for those football fans.
During this season of giving thanks, the staff and residents of North Shore Living want to express their sincere gratitude to the many volunteers, local churches, and community members who so generously share their valuable time and many talents with us throughout the year. You help keep the residents of North Shore Living connected with their community, and you bring joy every day to our home. We are so grateful for all of you!
