All welcome at the Cook County Senior Center

On Friday, August 5, during Fisherman’s Picnic, the Cook County Historical Society hosted the Old Timers Gathering at the Senior Center from 1-4 p.m. This was a pretty special event as many years of memories were shared among the people of this community through story telling and the viewing of historic photographs.

On Thursday and Friday, August 18-19, Marjori with the Senior Linkage Line will be at the Senior Center for Individual Medicare Counseling appointments. Marjori can help walk you through the many options and save you money on your Medicare supplemental insurance policies, along with helping you choose the best option based on your medical needs and prescriptions. You can call the Senior Center at 218-387-2660 and talk to Jes or Bev to schedule an appointment.

The Senior Center will be taking a day trip to Grand Portage Casino on Wednesday, August 17, leaving at 9:45 a.m. and a night trip on Monday, August 29, leaving at 4:15 p.m. Transportation is free for those that board at the Senior Center and pickups in town are available for a fee. Each person that goes receives $5 in free slot play and $5 off a meal in the dining room. It may be your lucky month, so come join the gang and come home a little—or maybe even a lot— richer!

Summer is in full swing and the Cook County Senior Center is your community meeting place! It is a place to come for fun, meetings, weekday lunch, playing cards, visiting, going on trips and many, many more services.

We serve seniors mainly, but are open and welcoming to all so stop in and let us be a part of your day!
