The annual Community Crosswalk, an outdoor processional service of worship, remembrance, and prayer, commences at 6 p.m. on Good Friday, April 3. The procession will begin and end at St. John’s Catholic Church at 10 E. 5th St. in Grand Marais.
Participants will gather and walk, bearing the cross, from church to church, stopping to offer prayer and blessings for each congregation. In addition, the procession will pause on the eastern edge of Grand Marais to offer prayers for churches on the east end of the county and on the west side of town to pray for the members of West End churches.
The Community Good Friday service will be held at the St. John’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m. Father Seamus Walsh will be preaching. Reverend Mary Ellen Ashcroft will lead the service.
Community members are encouraged to join the Cross Walk at any point along the route or to gather at St. John’s just before 7 p.m. All are welcome.
