In June, Cook County Higher Education will coordinate Alcohol Server Training at Cascade Lodge and Windigo Lodge, and CCVB Customer Service Training at the North Shore Campus and Lutsen Resort.
The Cook County Visitors Bureau Customer Service Training will take place from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Cook County Higher Education’s North Shore Campus in Grand Marais, and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 14 at Lutsen Resort. The training is free and open to everyone.
Presenter for the customer service training will be Dr. Charles Metelka, chair of the Hospitality and Tourism Department at the University of Wisconsin—Stout. Metelka is a seasoned veteran of customer service training and is familiar with the tourism industry of Minnesota’s North Shore.
He is a lively and engaging speaker who promises training sessions guaranteed to engage even those who are in their fifth or sixth training. His general theme will be the need for everyone in the village to help ensure visitors have a grand time and will want to return.
The Alcohol Server Training will be presented by Cook County Sheriff Mark Falk and Brian Kringen of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. It will be offered from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 18 at Cascade Lodge and 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, June 19 at Windigo Lodge on the Gunflint Trail.
This training carries a cost of $5 and is open to everyone.
Kringen will provide individual and establishment certificates from the Department of Public Safety.
