Ailee Larson recognized for academic, athletic success




Ailee Larson, a sophomore at St. Catherine University, has been honored for her academic and athletic achievements.

Each fall, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) honors outstanding student-athletes for their participation in varsity athletics while also achieving at the highest level academically with Academic All-Conference honors. St. Catherine University had 14 student athletes from all four fall sports earn the honor.

Academically, student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition. Athletically, student-athletes in team sports must compete in 50 percent of their team’s regular season varsity contests. Cross country student-athletes were required to finish in the overall top 50 of their team’s top seven at the MIAC Championship. Golfers were required to be a member of the competing team at the MIAC championships to be eligible for the honor.

Ailee is the daughter of Mike and Jana Larson of Lutsen. She is a 2011 graduate of Cook County High School.
