After six long years the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline is nearly complete

Good news doesn’t always make headlines and positive changes don’t always get featured on the news. But rest assured – good things are happening in Northern Minnesota.

For six years, Enbridge endured lengthy environmental reviews, tribal studies, and other necessary permitting and study processes. For six years, elected leaders, business owners and members of our towns, just like you, showed up to support this project. And for six years, we worked together knowing that this project would impact our state and region for years and decades to come.

Thankfully, after six long years, we are nearing completion on Line 3. For the past 8 months, construction on the Line 3 pipeline has been underway and brought huge success to communities in our region. It has created jobs, saved small businesses, and brought new friendly faces to our towns.

So, today, join me in applauding everyone and everything that went into making this project happen. Thank Enbridge for pushing through the red tape and years of delays. Thank your neighbors who showed up at town halls and open forums to make it clear that Northern Minnesota supports this project. Thank our first responders who have helped keep things safe from bad actors. And thank the workers who are out in the heat every day to complete this project.

Good things are happening, and we should do our part to spread the word.

Mike Dahl,
Mayor of Kinney,
Kinney, MN
