It is a complete, total amazement to me that at this crucial time in our nation and world, even in the aftermath of the gruesome Paris attacks, I have not heard even one leader or candidate calling people to prayer. The media is full of statements about “solidarity,” “standing shoulder-to-shoulder,” “full support,” as if these things mean even a fig to barbaric evil.
In times past, when our nation and world faced crises (and we are in crisis), one could count on our leaders to stand up and call for our citizens to cry out to the Living God for mercy and help. Presidents upheld the Word of God, the Bible, on which the principles of our nation were founded. Now we find that our leaders not only turn away from God’s life-giving words, but many actually seek to squelch them, fearful of “offending” the unbelieving. Yet there is seemingly no fear of offending the God Who created us.
The Bible says, “Some trust in chariots [man-made weapons], and some in horses, but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God.” Ps. 20:7.
What is that name? That wonderful name is Jesus, for Phil. 2:9-11 state “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth: and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
There is only one power that is able to defeat ISIS and other evil forces, and that is the power of Jesus, the Son of the Living God. Let us call upon Him today!
Looking to Him,
