Addie Gecas receives UW-Stout scholarship




Addie Gecas of Grand Marais received the Steiner/Milnes Scholarship. Gecas is majoring in apparel design and development. She is the daughter of Greg and Barb Gecas of Grand Marais.

Scholarships valued at more than $600,000 were awarded to 320 University of Wisconsin-Stout students this year through the Stout University Foundation at a reception on campus Sept. 12. Many of the scholarship donors and members of the board of directors personally presented the awards.

Established in 1962, the Stout University Foundation Scholarship Program has helped more than 7,750 students receive a college education. Through the financial support of alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the university the program has awarded more than $10 million.

UW-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University, is a special mission university in the UW System. The university has a longstanding reputation of serving business, industry, education and the helping professions through its specialized educational programs.
