Actors sought for North Shore eco-thriller

Aspiring actors are encouraged to try out for numerous roles available in an upcoming production that will be filmed somewhere in Duluth and Two Harbors this August.

Riki McManus of the Upper Minnesota Film Office said location scouting for film production has been busy in the region for Strange Nature, an ultralow budget feature film is looking for a number of local actors including some kids with great roles. Casting Director Jeffrey Passero will be coming from L.A. to cast July 10-11 in Duluth.

The story line of the eco-thriller is described thusly: “Recently returned home to rural Minnesota, former one-hit pop star Kim Sweet, who clearly burned a few too many bridges when she left, becomes consumed with the need to find out why there has been an outbreak of animal mutations in the area. Convinced that toxic waste, parasites and pesticides might be causing the problem, she teams up with a local science teacher to figure out what’s going on.”

More than a dozen local actors are needed. The characters and their roles may be viewed at www.strangenaturemovie.com, as well as the times and places for auditions. For more information contact McManus at (218) 940-3770.
