Actors needed for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Grand Marais is inviting the community to participate in the production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” by Barbara Robinson.

The play will be directed by Sue Hennessy.

An interest meeting and role selection will be held November 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church basement. Please come and learn more. We need lots of actors of all ages – folks to help with set, costumes and more. There are lots of ways to be involved, and no experience necessary. This is open to the whole community.

Rehearsals for the principal actors will be Tuesdays, Nov. 14 – Dec. 5 at 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Rehearsals for the entire ensemble will be Saturdays from November 18 through December 9 (except Nov. 25) from 12 to 3 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 26 at 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Performances will be Sunday, December 10 at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church. About the play:

In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids –probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!

This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling young adult book, and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States. It features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas carols, and a lot of laughs.
