A 59-year-old Edina woman was killed when she was pinned beneath her Toyota Camry that rolled off of a steep driveway along the Cascade Beach Road in Lutsen.
The accident occurred Monday, July 23 at approximately 6:32 p.m.
According to authorities the victim, Dayna Lynn Anderson, and her passenger, a woman from St. Paul, were looking for potential vacation cabins when they tried to turn around on a steep driveway and the vehicle slipped over the ledge. Authorities said the women had trouble releasing the emergency brake.
The passenger did not sustain any injuries.
Responding to the accident were the Cook County Sheriff ’s Office, Lutsen EMS, Lutsen fire department along with Cook County Search & Rescue. Cook County Towing extracted the vehicle from the scene.
Anderson was a speech pathologist who worked for the Edina School District for 25 years, mostly at Concord Elementary.
