I was happy to see Hartley Acero’s Feb. 26 letter to the editor, A forgotten treasure?
I agree that Lake View Natural Dairy, located just seven miles up the Gunflint Trail, is a wonderful asset to our community for locals and visitors alike. Cook County is not exactly farming country, so we are indeed lucky to be able to get local milk and dairy products (and without looking at miles of corn rows)!
I’ve talked to folks that have been meaning to go up to the dairy, and I urge them to do so, for their health and the importance of supporting local business. If you’ve never been to the dairy and are perhaps a bit uncertain about raw milk, there is lots of information and research out there to answer your questions. A few good websites I’ve found are www.shetlermilk.com and www.realmilk.com
