The North Shore Music Association—now more than a quarter of a century old—presented another evening of amazing local musical talent on Saturday, February 12 at the Local Musicians Showcase—a tradition more than a decade old. Concert goers have come to expect a wonderful show at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts and the 2011 showcase did not disappoint.

Taking the stage were local performers Amanda Hand, Pete Kavanaugh, Critter du Jour (Tom VanCleve, Barb LaVigne, and Ken McMillan), YaDaYaDa (Yvone Mills and David Grinstead), Joe Paulik, Gina Macy & Friends (Gina, David Grinstead, Yvonne Mills, and Amanda Hand).

The Local Musicians Showcase is just one of the ways that the Music Association reaches out to provide opportunities for the public to enjoy a variety of musicians and musical styles. Mark your calendar for the next event, a traditional music weekend at North House Folk School starting March 12. The community is invited for a day of instrument workshops, dance lessons, a concert and dance, all with the theme of Western Swing.
