In response to Jean Marie Modl’s “As I See It” column about Verizon, I am having the same problems with Verizon, and this has been ongoing since August.
I have no WIFI connection, and they (Verizon) promise to send me a Sim card and it never arrives. We have been troubleshooting and then it (phone) works but as soon as I hang up it stops. I am not behind on paying my bills and yet, the offer for more service over the phone line seems to be cheaper yet it does not apply to me.
Due to our recent storms and the poles down everywhere, I was giving them (Verizon) some lax due to the deliveries not arriving. However, weeks later I still have no WIFI on my phone or my internet. And, once again they promise to send me a Sim card by this Tuesday. If I don’t get it, I will contact the FCC. I am feeling erased. This is not what I am paying for. If anyone else is living through this nightmare you are nor alone. If you are having similar problems with Verizon, please contact the FCC.

P.S. A heart-felt thankyou to the Cook County News-Herald and WTIP (local radio) because without the radio or newspaper I wouldn’t have any local news, events, or perspective.
Editor’s note—Like Jean Marie, Nikki doesn’t have a car so she can drive to a Verizon store in Duluth to have her problems taken care of. So, the only way to proceed is through the internet or via phone, which is tough if you must rely on your cell phone that you can’t get operational.
