The Grand Marais Lions Club welcomes you back for the 94th annual Fisherman’s Picnic.
The Bingo Tent is back again. Thanks to a partnership between the Sons of the American Legion, Buck’s Hardware, Gunflint Tavern, and the Lions, come enjoy the fun of waiting for your lucky numbers with a cold one!
The picnic begins with WISE Women’s “Buffet in a Box”, taking place on Wednesday, August 2nd and concludes with the Lion club’s drawing on Sunday, August 6th at 5pm in the Harbor Park of $10,000 along with many other prizes donated from our great local businesses. Come and support the Lions Club, buy tickets, enjoy a new and improved fish burger, caught by our local, North Shore Fishery, and enjoy some great local musicians in the Harbor Park!
Don’t miss the deals at the Thursday sidewalk sales. Also, don’t forget to take in the family fun activities, kiddie rides, rock skipping contest, loon calling contest, minnow races and the crowd favorite fish toss.
Please stop in to purchase an activity button at the Lion’s information booth. Enjoy Saturday night fireworks over the harbor and the parade on Sunday.
A special note to everyone: The loss of Bob Spry, this summer, is felt by all the Lions members as well as the community and we will miss him, his endless energy and his and Millie’s commitment to the Lions Club.
Last, please come and enjoy the picnic. Visit friends and family and support your hard-working Lions and other volunteers. And don’t forget to buy a ticket (or two, or three.). This could be your lucky year to win $10,000 or one of the other great prizes donated by area merchants!
Thank you and hope to see you there!
Grand Marais Lions Club President, Todd Smith
