The Grand Marais Art Colony is hosting its 7th annual Plein Air Painting Competition Aug. 28 through Sept. 6.
Plein air artists are invited to paint Cook County from Aug. 28 through Sept. 3 for any or all of the days. Events for the week include a night-time paint out, guest speaker Howard Sivertson and a quick paint. Theevent culminates with an exhibition and sale of paintings and fish fry on Friday, Sept. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. The sale continues into Sunday.
