Join in a day of fun and exciting activities for you and your horse at the third annual Timex 3 Event Day fundraiser, sponsored by the Sawtooth Mountain Riders Saddle Club Aug. 8 at North Coast Fjords, 428 County Road 14, Grand Marais.
Theevents begin at 10 a.m. sharp, and include the Arena Phase in which riders will be asked to show their horses in both directions at a walk, trot and canter in the arena; the Cross Country Phase, which consists of riding a set course through the woods, jumping 2-foot jumps, crossing streams and bridges; and the Trail Class Phase, which spotlights accuracy in execution of maneuvers in the arena.
Points will be accumulated throughout the phases. First prize is a Timex watch, and there will be ribbons to 6th place as well as competitor ribbons. Entry fee is $25 per contestant/horse. Entry deadline is July 30.
