2nd Lieutenant Hellner earns criminal justice degree





 

 

William H. Hellner graduated Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan, in April 2014. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and achieved a 3.99 GPA. The following day he was commissioned into the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant.

He received his officers’ bars from his grandfather, Lt. Col. Harry P. Hawkins, retired.

2nd Lieutenant Hellner was then assigned to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he completed his military police training.

Hellner is now at his first duty station at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Will is a 2010 graduate of Cook County High School. He is the son of Glenn and Katherine Hellner of Grand Marais.
