Visit Cook County named the winners of the 2022 Holiday Parade held on Friday, November 25. With approximately 750-1,000 people lining the streets on a warm night, the parade, led by the American Legion Post 413 Honor Guard, was a small but highly successful holiday event. Once the marchers, vehicles and floats went around the block twice, the Christmas tree in Harbor Park was lit, and the lighting was immediately followed by the fireworks. Stores and restaurants that stayed open late did well with all of the shoppers on hand. And even though Santa didn’t make an appearance. Murray the Moose charmed kids and adults alike, and the free cookies given out by Visit Cook County staff were just the right amount of sweetness to complete a fun night.
