Haussner selected to University of Minnesota Twin Cities Dean’s List
Jack Haussner, Grand Marais, is a Junior enrolled in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Jack was named to the 2021 fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.

As Northern Long-eared bats face extinction, Feds move to protect them through the Endangered Species Act
On March 22, 2022, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed reclassifying the northern long-eared bat under the Endangered Species Act. The bats are currently registered as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act, and are protected. Ewing breaks 24-hour snowmobiling distance record
Although it didn’t happen on Devil Track Lake as first planned, Willie Ewing eclipsed the current 24-hour snowmobile distance record of record of 1,908 miles by covering 2,125.04 miles on Lake of the Woods.
