Historical Reflections
Offset, the paste-up and photographic printing system, is now a reality. The crew at the News-Herald printed, folded, bundled, and mailed the last issue of the paper using the Cottrell Press and the “hot-type” method last week. Over 4,100 regular weekly issues of the paper have been printed directly from type since the paper was founded in 1891.
