Cook County commissioners tabled a discussion about setting their 2020 salary and compensation rates at the December 3 meeting. Last weekend’s windstorm kicked up some huge waves on Lake Superior. When the wind settled the water froze, creating a panorama of interesting icicles. These trees and ledge rock are 15 to 20 feet higher than the beach. Chuck Soderholm said he has never seen waves reach that high from his lakefront home in Grand Marais.
