Rally held in support of Climate Strike

Maybe it was the nice weather, maybe it was the message, maybe it was a combination of both, but any way you looked at it, a turnout of 50-plus people with scant notice is a big turnout for a climate change rally, or for any rally on a busy 4 p.m. Friday in Grand Marais. Arrowhead Indivisible promoted a pop-up […]

Two bicyclists take time out of their day to ride one of the many peaceful, tranquil back roads of Cook County. Fall colors are peaking so get out and enjoy all of the colors Mother Nature has on her pallette while you can. If you’re like me, you don’t stay continually aware of what’s most dear to you. But when you come back to it –through the gift of remembrance, perhaps […]

Elizabeth RosenquistJekyll Island, Georgia […]

Writer praises Cook County Administrator Jeff Cadwell’s accomplishments

It was disappointing, but not surprising, that the lead story in the September 14 issue regarding Cook County Administrator Jeff Cadwell’s resignation chose to focus on the negative rather than the positive accomplishments during his tenure. I believe the article should have highlighted some of the benefits Cook County is now experiencing thanks to Mr. Cadwell’s leadership: We now have […]
