The winner of the 2019 Sven & Ole’s Pickled Herring Eating Contest was misidentified in the Aug. 10 edition of the News-Herald. This year’s winner was Mike Thunborg, who finally won after more than 20 years of participating in the contest, downing a half-pound of pickled herring in under 57 seconds.
