Gilbert Mendivil and Juanita Ruiz of Grand Marais announce the birth of a son, Bennito Leroy Mendivil, at 1:08 p.m. Feb. 18, 2010 at the Cook County North Shore Hospital. Carol A. Oswald, formerly of Grand Marais, died Feb. 2, 2010 at the Tulsa Nursing Center in Tulsa, Okla. She was living in Catoosa, Okla., with her granddaughter Michelle (Oswald) Yoder. Carol’s obituary, and the date of her funeral in Wisconsin, will be published in the Cook County News-Herald this spring.
